Our main September film will be The Mercy, the incredible story of Donald Crowhurst's attempt to be the first person to single-handedly circumnavigate the globe and one of the most enduring mysteries of recent times.

Donald Crowhurst was an amateur sailor who competed in the 1968 Sunday Times Golden Globe Race, hoping to become the first person to single-handedly circumnavigate the globe without stopping.

With an unfinished boat and his business and house on the line, Donald leaves his wife, Clare and their children behind, hesitantly embarking on an adventure on his boat the Teignmouth Electron. The story of Crowhurst's dangerous solo voyage and the struggles he confronted on the epic journey while his family awaited his return is one of the most enduring mysteries of recent times.

"The heart-breaking true story of British amateur sailor Donald Crowhurst is told here in painstaking detail by director James Marsh who has succeeded in bringing us the saddest film we've seen in yonks. Nobody does noble failure like the Brits.", Jim Schembri 3AW

"It's no heroic tale; 'The Mercy' is thoughtful, uncomfortable viewing." Dave Calhoun, Time Out

Tickets cost £4 for adults and £2 for under 18s, and are available online now or in advance from Watts Trading or on the door if not already sold out.
